A four-color silkscreen underglaze print on a white tile blank depicting a Pennsylvania “Dutch” man and girl carrying firewood toward a saltbox house where a woman awaits, supporting the Poor Richard’s Almanac maxim, “What is serving God ‘tis doing good to man.” This tile appears in the brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Print Tiles”, c.1960; see images. This is one of a series of at least fourteen tiles featuring maxims from Poor Richard’s Almanac.

Screen printing of underglaze colors, clear glaze, firing and finishing by Ceramo Studios, NYC. This example is printed on the thicker tile body used by Country Prints/Ceramo Studio prior to 1962.
