Wallhanging, Scroll: Frontier Cooking 222Description
A Country Prints production sample retained as a print record.
A wallhanging with a five-screen/multiple color silkscreen print on natural linen depicting more than thirty-five tools and furnishings necessary to a well equipped early American kitchen. Items illustrated include metalware, woodware, painted tin, glass and painted pine. All are recurrent themes in Wert’s work.
This wallhanging is a late 1950’s re-issue of a c.1953 towel/wallhanging/runner. Text at the footer has been modified from the earlier version, as have the colors.
The linen print is glued to a black painted wood crossbar with a flat woven cord for hanging.Made/Created
