Name/Title

Strike-Off: Field and Marsh 502 Calendar Towel

Description

A strike-off for a six-color silkscreen print of the top section of a calendar towel, retained by Country Prints as a print record. Produced at least from 1966-68, the Field and Marsh 502 calendar towel bears imagery previously used on a 1965 Massachusetts Audubon Society calendar towel. The Field and Marsh version retains the initials, ES, an unidentified freelance artist hired by Country Prints after Robert Darr Wert’s death in January 1968. Bob may have developed the original artwork for the Audubon Society calendar in 1964 (for the 1965 calendar year), but ES takes credit for rearranging the composition for the 1966 calendar.
