Name/Title

Print: Jugs 715-1

Description

A four-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting six forms of crockery and a ceramic rooster figurine, delineated as outlines and silhouettes, in a manner reminiscent of early American slipware designs. A matching tile, “Jugs T-9”, and towel/wallhanging/runner, “Stoneware 210”, were also available, see images. This print appears in the c.1955 brochure “Country Prints In Frames” and a c.1955 price list as “Jugs 715-1”, and is paired with “Doodles 715-2”. A later re-colored version with a printed border appears in the c.1960 brochure “Country Prints in Frames by Robert Darr Wert as “Jugs 916-2”; see images. This example is a sales sample from Country Prints’ independent west coast sales representative Ruth Gauss Flynn.
