Name/Title
Kitchen, Potholder: Motif Gourmet 280 or 284-2, Turquoise or OrangeDescription
A potholder with a four-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting a fondue pot, cooking implements, vegetables and herbs.
This potholder is part of Country Prints’ Motif Gourmet collection, a line of decidedly design-forward kitchen accessories that veer away from Wert’s usual Americana themes. The potholder was offered in turquoise and orange colorways.
The potholder is part of a suite of kitchen accessories designed to coordinate with Motif Gourmet Herbs 280 and Cheese 284 wall hangings, and the same print appears on both the potholders and toaster covers.
Edges are finished in bias tape to match the textile ink. Bias tape forms a loop at upper left corner for hanging.
This potholder in the turquoise colorway was used as a prop in the kitchen of the 1967 Warner Bros. film “Wait Until Dark”, starring Audrey Hepburn and Richard Crenna; see images.Made/Created
