Name/Title
Runner: Williamsburg Street 217Description
NOTE: Temp photo.
A four-screen/six color silkscreen print on linen depicting buildings in Colonial Williamsburg, Williamsburg, Virginia. Buildings are presented in elevation and three-quarter views. The street scene includes Bruton Parish Church. A matching framed print was also produced.
This may have been a custom commission for the shops at Williamsburg. The table runners and framed prints in this series were sold unsigned, which is rare for Country Prints products and may have been a condition of the commission.
This table runner is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints price list in one colorway (soft brick, blue and green), and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Mat Sets by Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints”.
This example belonged to longtime Country Prints employee, Edward Stafford, who would have been instrumental in its production.Made/Created
