A cross stitch quilt kit based on a c.1954 Country Prints “Quilts 203” towel/wallhanging/runner with Bob Wert’s interpretation of an early appliqué quilt; see images. In this kit, the cross stitch designs are rendered in white and black stitching on brown panels, with borders of brown cross stitch on white panels. This kit was also available in blue and white, as well as in sizes for both single and double beds.
The instruction sheet for this kit bears the notation “F/6”, which may be Bucilla’s code for the date the kit was released, possibly Fall 1956, which falls after Country Prints’ release of the “Quilts” towel used for this quilt design (c.1954).
