Description
A completed apron from the Bucilla cross stitch kit series, “Country Morn”, based on Wert’s “Good Morning U226” wallhanging; see images. This is one in a suite of kits offered in both turquoise and red colorways. This example is in turquoise.
The instruction sheet for the tea towel kit in this series bears the notation “S/66” at the end of the instruction text, which may be Bucilla’s code for when the kit was released, Spring or Summer of 1966. This would follow Country Prints’ introduction of the “Good Morning” towel that inspired these pieces by at least three years. The towel was released c.1963.
