Name/Title
Kitchen, Apron: Happy Heart, flatDescription
An apron with a four-screen/five-color silkscreen print on natural linen depicting Wert’s interpretation of Pennsylvania “Dutch” folk art. “May You Have a Happy Heart” appears in six hearts across the lower portion of the composition. The waist tie was a single length of green twill tape.
This apron was part of a coordinated set of kitchen accessories that included: tile, toaster cover, oven mitt, coffee can cover, bottle cover, etc. This example is an ungathered apron that was likely a “men’s” apron meant to coordinate with the gathered “women’s” apron.Made/Created
