Name/Title
Notecard: Christmas, Shepherd (TK)
Description
A seven screen/eight color silkscreen print on white linen depicting a walking shepherd from the St. Luke story of the first Christmas. The shepherd carries a lamb, symbolic of the lamb of God, while looking skyward and following the Christmas star. A ewe walks alongside him.
The linen print is backed with a silkscreen printed calendar for the months of December 1961 and January 1962. This assemblage was likely meant to be glued inside a die cut greeting card like the one seen below.
This print descended through the Wert family and is in the collection of Kathryn Zentner.
