Name/Title
Print: Iron Pots 57 or 97 (TK)Description
A two-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting early American cast iron and wrought iron cooking tools in silhouette. The composition is finished with a red border.
This is smaller, unsigned reinterpretation of Iron Pots 612-3, which appears in the c.1955 brochure “Country Prints in Frames”, and is paired with Weathervanes 612-5. It is also listed on a c.1955 price list.
This print bears a label from Boston retailer C & A Richards, who seems to have specialized in framed prints of early American themes. The initials in the item number, WR-533, may stand for “Wert” or “Wert Robert”. The frame is backed with black cardboard stapled in place, which is atypical for Country Prints and may have been done by the retailer.Made/Created
