Name/Title

Print: Kitchen Ware 57 or 97 (TK) BLK

Description

A five-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting ten early American kitchen tools. Cast iron, wrought iron, painted tin, and woodware are illustrated. This is smaller, unsigned reinterpretation of Kitchen Ware 1012, which was one of the first nine framed prints offered by Country Prints c.1951. This print bears a label from Boston retailer C & A Richards, who seems to have specialized in framed prints of early American themes. The initial in the item number, WR-531, may stand for “Wert” or “Wert Robert”. The frame is backed with black cardboard stapled in place, which is atypical for Country Prints and may have been done by the retailer.
