Description

A four-color silkscreen underglaze print on a white tile blank with a clear overglaze. Design depicts five examples of early American painted tin: two coffee pots, a tea kettle, a tea tin and a handled bowl. This tile appears in the brochures “Robert Darr Wert/Country Print Tiles”, c.1955, as Country Tin T-14, and in “Country Prints by Robert Darr Wert and Neighbors”, c.1963 and c.1966, as Country Tin 517. The 1960’s versions are on a thinner tile body. A matching placemat set was also produced at the time this tile was released, c.1955; see images. In the 1960’s, a matching wallhanging was also produced; see images. These items were available singly or in matched gift sets.
