George W. Turner. Enlisted in Letcher's Brock's Gap Rifles on June 20, 1861. Transferred as private, Company C, 11th Virginia Sharpshooters. Captured at Columbia Furnace on April 16, and imprisioned at Ft. Delaware where he suffered from scurvy. Exchanged and joined the infantry. Fought at Gettysburg. applied for a furlough Jan. 24, 1865 and probably never returned to service. Civil War Veteran . .
