1914-1918 Canadian Army Medical Corps cap badge. Within a wreath of maple leaves, the rod of Asclepius (a serpent entwined around a rod) is superimposed upon the base of the wreath. A plaque inscribed "ROYAL CANADIAN ARY MEDICAL CORPS." The whole surmounted by a crown. The badge is made of brown copper.Context
During WWI, the corps provided medical services for the Canadian corps in France. In addition to the Canadian stationary hospitals in England and France, there were four stationary hospitals in Gallipoli with British formations.
