Description

1944-1945 Air Force Cross, to Squadron-Leader Victor Wentworth Thompson, Royal Canadian Air Force. Silver cross, with four arms in the shape of arrows/thunderbolts (ends stamped clockwise "G", "I", "VI","R" Top arm ends in a King's crown. Between cross arms are feathered wings. In centre is Hermes on an eagle offering a wreath. Reverse is Royal Cypher and date "1918" Suspension is a laurel-decorated bar attached to Crown at top arm by a ring. Ribbon (diagonal stripes red/white) 3.2 x 9 cm. Court-mounted. Depicted first from the left.
