Description

1780's-1815 Canadian Militia pattern 1780 officer's waistbelt slings made of (faded) treated pipe clay brown leather. It attached to the loose rings of the scabbard. Nine brass lions decorate the buckles and rings. One of the S hooks takes the form of a double-headed goose.

Use

Carries the scabbard from the waistbelt. Part of a set with a matching sabre and scabbard.

Context

Belongs to one of the first swords in the British army to be produced under the Board of Ordnance.
