Description
1899-1902 British/Canadian South Africa Field Force slouch hat. Olive drab felt. Circular brim edged with olive drab sateen strip, circular crown with cleft in centre. Around crown is 1.2 cm. wide olive drab sateen hatband. Left brim is upturned: a brass hook stitched into the crown engages with a hole in the brim. Interior (missing sweatband) has two black-painted steel hooks which hold a (missing) chinstrap.
