Description
1901 Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration, to Lieut. Colonel S. Hughes, 45th Regiment. Oval, gilt metal and silver. Obverse a gilt crown atop silver beaded band with title "Colonial Auxiliary Forces" In centre is imperial cypher "VRI" in silver gilt. Reverse is flat, inscribed and hallmarked. Suspender ring on top of crown joined by ring to suspender bar at end of dark green ribbon, 3.2 x 9 cms. (Top of ribbon has laurel-decorated silver bar).
