Description
1917-1918 19th Battalion Lieutenant's Service Dress Cap made of tan khaki barathea wool on the crown, cap band, and peak. On either side of the body, are two ventilation grommets (0.7 cm diameter) painted a matching tan khaki colour. The badge is a copper 19th Canadian Battalion badge (5 x 5 cm). The adjustable chin strap (29 cm long x 0.9 cm wide) is made of brown leather. On either side of the chin strap is a Canada general list button (1.2 cm diameter).
The inside is lined with a striped matching beige silk, quilted in a diamond pattern. The underside of the peak is lined with a hard, green material (possibly vinyl). The sweatband is made of a light brown leather. Underneath the forehead of the sweatband is a band of cotton to cushion the wearer from the badge pin.
