Description
1940-1945 British/Canadian Army Sykes-Fairbairn Commando fighting knife scabbard. Tapered, flattened cylindrical brown leather, black-painted brass chape. Frog is ovoid shaped brown leather flap stitched/rivetted to scabbard rear. Two slits in frog for attachment to belt. (The original brown or black elastic loop for holding the grip down has disappeared, has been replaced by a brown cotton shoelace. Original leather tabs on rear for sewing scabbard to inside trousers or windproof smock are still intact.
