Description
1941-1945 Royal Air Force Mark IV polarizing flying goggles. Rectangular, black-painted sheet brass with two screwed-in 4.5 x 7 cm split glass lenses. At front top is a hinged/spring steel mount for a V-shaped dark brown tinted celluloid anti-glare filter 4.5 x 11.5 cms. Rear of brass mount has brown leather nose/brow pads. Attached to the associated Type "B" flying helmet by two circular brown cotton/elastic loops, one each side of brass mount. Loops are joined by one rear leather/steel buckled strap 1.6 x 30 cms.
