The chinstrap is made of a tan khaki cotton webbing (2.5 x 59.5 cm) and is attached to the outer shell with metal buckles (2 x 3 cm). The inside head-sling suspension system is made of four strips of black metal and a black elastic cord. The lining is a rigid, black leather covered band. On the outside of the band, between the inside of the outer shell, are eight foam cushions to cushion the head.
