1951-1984 Special Service Medal with "NATO" bar. Medal is circular and is made from a copper-zinc alloy. Obverse of medal depicts a maple leaf with a laurel wreath surrounding it. The reverse contains the Royal Crown and Royal Cypher of Queen Elizabeth II along with a curving title that reads "SPECIAL SERVICE SPÉCIAL" Ribbon is red, white, dark green, red, white. Ribbon measures 3.2x6 cm. Sewn into the middle of the ribbon is a white metal bar that contains a a NATO lodestar symbol with the title "NATO OTAN". Medal has plain bar suspender at the top. Medal is court-mounted in group of 16 medals and is sixth from the left.
