Description

1914-1918 Canadian Expeditionary Force Infantry Battalion brass rope tension band drum. Shell is made of brass and the batter head is made of a mammal skin. Eight strands of thin brown rope are pulled across the diameter of the top skin. Painted wood bandings on the top and bottom in red, black, and beige paint. Tension ropes are beige with leather tensions painted white. The two rope handles are braided in a single rope braid (71 cm and 83 cm long). Part of a set with two drumsticks.
