Description

1950s Winslow Mortimer pen/ink cartoon entitled "If You Had Held On To Your Victory Bonds, You Wouldn't Be In That Jam Now." The full-page cartoon shows a two lane highway that is congested in both directions. Above the cars a man and a woman are flying in a helicopter. The man leans out the window and we assume he is saying the slogan that is written along the bottom of the sketch "If You Had Held On To Your Victory Bonds, You Wouldn't Be In That Jam Now." A sign by the side of the road shows that Wasaga Beach is 40 miles away, Balm Beach is 50 miles, and Midland is 62 miles. The sketch is signed by Winslow Mortimer in the bottom right corner.
