Obverse bareheaded bust King George VI with circular title "Georgivs VI D G BR OMN REX F D IND IMP" Reverse is Royal crown above oak tree stump, lion and lioness, title "THE DEFENCE MEDAL" Fixed straight bar suspender. Ribbon is green, black, green, orange, green, black, green, 3.3 x 8.5 cm.
