Obverse uncrowned head King George VI, title "GEORGIVS VI D G BR OMN REX F D IND IMP" Reverse is oak tree stump with Royal Crown, a lion, lioness, dates "1939" "1945" and title "THE DEFENCE MEDAL" Suspender is fixed toe claw with plain bar, ribbon is green, black, green, orange, green, black, green, 3.6 x 9 cm. Depicted here third from the right.
