Description

1917-1918 Royal Flying Corps service dress jacket, khaki green wool, famous single-breasted "maternity" style (5 internal plastic buttons). Stitched "stand and fall" collar with brass bar and hook closure. Stitched shoulder straps 5 x 11 cms with khaki/white/red-brown cotton/wool rank "pips" for Lieutenant. Angled French style cuffs, two flapped pockets at waistline, at rear are two "L" shaped brass hooks for wearing of brown leather Sam Browne waistbelt. Lining of gray-green silk or sateen and orange-yellow for collar.
