Description

1918 Canadian Railway Troops Bridging Company service dress cap. Tan twill wool or cotton crown body (with 4 grommet holes), and cap band. Brass Canadian First Railway Troops Bridging Company cap badge (3.9cm width x 4.6cm height). Two tan twill chinstrap buttons (1.4cm diameter) are on either side of a black leather chinstrap (1.3cm width x 29cm length). The top of the peak is made of a tan twill wool or cotton while the bottom of the peak is a green fabrikoid leather. The inner sweatband is a brown leather with a tan twill wool or cotton crown liner. Various inscriptions and signatures are written in pencil on the crown liner and sweatband, although not all inscriptions are legible.
