1939-1945 War Medal. Circular, silver. Obverse the crowned head of King George VI facing left, with title "GEORGIVS VI G:BR:OMN:REX ET INDIAE IMP." Reverse is lion standing on body of a dragon with eagle/dragon's head (or hydra). Suspender is bar and fixed toe claw. Ribbon is red-blue-white-red-white-blue-red, 3.2 x 8.2 cms. Pinned to ribbon is a darkened bronze of brass maple leaf 7 mm x 2.5 cms FOR MENTIONS IN DESPATCHES (for professional leadership of his Company in action 13-25 December 1941). Medal not numbered, has been plated, court-mounted in group of six medals.Made/Created
