Howard served as technical advisor Toronto Infantry School 1883-1885. Action at Batoche May 1885. As Lieutenant in Royal Canadian Dragoons served in South Africa - Leewburg - Belfast - Witpoort: 1899-1900. Raised Canadian Scouts (M.G. Section) January 1901. Killed in Derby, South Africa February 17, 1901.Made/Created
