Description

1914-1918 French Army Model 1897 75 mm. field artillery gun shell casing. Cylindrical, brass, fired primer. Converted into "trench art" souvenir: hundreds of dots, grooves, stipples form an oval pattern of leaves, vines surrounding five angels around shield "St.Eloi". Bottom of shield are dates "1914", "1918". At top is title "Campagne de Lyser".
