1860 Yorkville Volunteer Cavalry (Canadian Militia) standard (guidon). Blue silk, 5 mm. wide gold lace border with 7.3 cm. long gold bullion wire fringe (the tattered and discoloured old fringe was replaced by a new one). Swallowtail fly. Hand-painted in centre is 55 cm. diameter wreath of thistles, shamrocks, roses topped by a Queen's Crown. Inside the wreath is painted in black and gold the title "Yorkville Volunteer Cavalry" this is 5.5 cms. high. At base is scrolled title "Pro Rege Et Patria."Made/Created
