1914-1920 British War Medal 151576 A.L.CPL.H.A.CLACK 79.CAN.INF.. The obverse shows the left side profile of King George V, surrounded by the words "GEORGIVS V BRITT: OMN: REX ET IND: IMP:" (George V, King of all the British Isles and Emperor of India).The reverse shows Saint George on horseback and armed with a short sword fighting the Prussian eagle, featuring the years 1914 and 1918. The ribbon consists of the following colours from left to right: blue, black, white, orange, white, black, blue.

Context

The British War Medal was awarded to all members of the Canadian military who served in any theatre of war between August 5, 1914, and November 11, 1918. Those who served in the Overseas Military Forces of Canada (OMFC) in the United Kingdom and did not participate in a theatre of war were not given the medal.
