The RG-31 Nyala is an ambush-protected vehicle manufactured in South Africa. Resistant to mines, it is based on an older Mamba armoured personnel carrier design during the Apartheid era.
The Vehicle has a V-shaped all-steel welded armour monocoque hull and high suspension, providing excellent small-arms and mine blast protection. It can accommodate a crew of 8 or 10 including the driver. Fixed to its roof is a remote weapon station operated from the inside.
