A team of Canadian Combat engineers and a German Shepherd, a military service dog, searching a route for suspected mines or improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The man in the forefront is using a metal detector but not all mines were made using metal. The dog highly trained to detect the scent of explosives was extremely useful in this type of operation.
