2026x.02.02Description
Informal group photo of 8 soldiers. They are standing in front of a small round white tent, many others are in the background. 7 men are standing, one is crouched in the front and centre. The men are in full uniform but they don't have the RMR cap badges and collar brasses yet, since the photo was taken in December 1914, before they left for France. Some of the men are holding cigarettes and there are everyday items strewn about at their feet. Two rifle pyramids are also on either side of the men. The fifth from the left has a signaler flag leaning on his leg, indicating that he might be a signaler. Another flag is laid on the ground behind them. These are the same men who appear in the full company portrait. The first man on the left is identified as Private Romeo Houle.Photograph Details
