Description

Cloak, full-length with attached capelet and dark brown/black velvet collar, two arm slits (originally about 9 3/4" long) with attached vertical flaps, and large interior pocket. The main fabric is red and black wool plain weave one-inch check with a slight nap, brown lining.. The entire body of the cloak is lined with wool (?) batting, some of which is exposed at the neck. The cloak is constructed with a yoke into which the body of the garment is gathered; the seam is also piped with the same fabric covering string. The piping also outlines the outer edges of the capelet. The neck is secured with two sets of hook and eye closures.
