Description

Glass plate negative photo of Rufus Milton Hobbs and Raymond Hobbs operating their homemade sawmill. According David Bedell, Rufus Hobbs created his sawmill from salvaged parts of the Thurston Mills sawmill which was destroyed by a storm freshet along the Nonesuch River. The Hobbs lived just up the road from the Thurston Mill on Watson Mill Road. Circa 1918.
