Description

Blue and white striped plain weave cotton dress. Short standup collar with a single buttonhole at the center back. Fitted bodice closes in the front with flat white pearl buttons, some of them replaced. Round standup collar. Small breast pocket on the left side. Long sleeves pleated at the top of the shoulder; 3 1/2 " cuffs. The two buttons on the cuffs are slightly larger and are removable for washing. The bodice front originally had the same type of closures. The skirt is gathered at the top with a large square patch pocket on the right and a side opening on the left. It has a deep hem but has also been shortened with a tuck 16 3/4" above the hem to reduce the length by an inch. The upper part of the left sleeve has an insignia in the form of four loops forming a cross.
