Description

White cotton petticoat with lace inserts, The front is smooth, the back is pleated; it opens in the back. The pleats are top-stitched down for the top four inches. No separate waistband; the material has been turned over and stitched down. There are six bands of narrow tucks separated by six bands of lace and a band of wide lace at the trim. Where the first row of lace begins there is a plain cotton layer of fabric attached inside that ends with a ruffle trimmed with wide lace at the hem. The upper portion shows evidence of stitching which have been removed; the fabric may have been removed.
