In this volume, Pepperell Manufacturing Company explains through photographs and text the role of textiles in the war effort, the largest single item next to steel on the procurement list of the Armed Forces. In addition, textiles were an important requirement in the rehabilitation of the civilian population in occupied territories as they were freed. Finally, textiles helped to preserve the civilian economy in the midst of war at home.
