Description

Glass plate negative photo of the interior of the Quillcote house, author Kate Douglas Wiggin's residence in Hollis, Maine. This plate looks to be a photo of a photograph. The back side of the negative has a section of a postcard pasted on. "July 20, 1919" is written in pencil on the postcard section. The photographer Bradbury was likely sizing these photos to create postcards. The date written in pencil is likely the processing date and not the date the actual photo was taken. This image of "The Blue Parlor" has appeared on postcards. Many of these postcards of Quillcote are still widely available today and sold by antique ephemera dealers.
