Pleasant Point is located on the Saco River below the center of Salmon Falls Village. Today Pleasant Point Park is operated by the town of Buxton; it is located on the Simpson Road. On January 15, 1875, Gibeon Bradbury wrote: Nobody keeps an open fire in the place but myself this winter. But it grieves me to burn the logs, for they grew on my hunting grounds and I had shot a squirrel, pigeon, or partridge out of most every one of their tops. The beautiful woods are fast disappearing—the last grove of oaks are now being cut on the Woodman Place at Pleasant Point.
