Tools used by workers in the mills on Factory Island were rarely cookie-cutter, mass market implements. Workers adapted tools or even made tools by hand to suit their specific tasks, to fit idiosyncratic machinery, or to work more efficiently with their own personal ergonomics. These tools belonged to Gertrude Dubay Tousignant and to family members of Raoul Goulet, one of several generations of mill workers.
