Description

Framed sampler on unbleached linen with dark brown, green and beige silk thread wrked in cross, satin, and queen stitches. There are three alphabets, with a zigzag tree pattern at the top, a simple border on each side, and a row of trees at the bottom. Below the last alphabet is the inscription: "Wrought by Mary Bradbury in the 13th year of her age AD 1806" and the verse: "The time draws near that I must go, and bid adieu to things below. And if these lines you chance to see, when I am dead, remember me." In a gilded wood frame with flower designs.
