Description

White cotton dress, now fairly gray overall, decorated with cotton embroidery and insets of cotton lace. Round neckline with a lace and embroidered collar, square in the back and conforming to the low neckline in the front. Illusion bodice with an over-panel trimmed with lace and embroidery. Elbow length sleeves with a band of cotton lace similar to that on the rest of the dress and the lower part of the sleeve is a finer netted lace with two tiers of lace tiers at the bottom. The skirt hem is trimmed with lace that is similar to the lace on the sleeves. Closes in the back with hooks and eyes. There is a band of lace running vertically with round crocheted round buttons on each side, the right side of which fastens into snaps. The back of the over bodice at approximately waist height has two bound slits, 3 1/4" long; one has been shortened slightly. Possibly for a ribbon that could be tied in front.
