Bodice is of black silk brocaded with blue and green flowers trimmed with lace and black velvet. Short round standing collar of the same brocade sewn to the cotton lining. The bodice opens in the front with an interior black glazed cotton lining with hook and eye closures which is exposed at the top. The interior has no closures .The front of the bodice is pleated, with pleats sewn down at the shoulder and partway down the front. There is trailing floral patterned lace trim applied to the outside edge of the fashion fabric of the V-necked front with a black velvet bow at the bottom. Long sleeves are gathered at the shoulder and end in black velvet cuffs with the same floral lace applique. There is a black velvet bow at the waist; they are all secured with hooks and eyes. Black silk skirt with a short train. The front of the skirt is flat, fitted at the top and flaring out toward the bottom. There are two wide bands of the same fabric sewn above the hem. Lined with black glazed cotton. Closes at the back with hooks and eyes.
