As the United States celebrated its Bicentennial in 1976, commercial manufacturers flooded the market with commemorative keepsakes, tapping into a nationwide wave of revolutionary nostalgia. This pair of glass Liberty Bell banks, produced by Ohio-based Anchor Hocking, served a dual purpose for mid-century families: a functional household item and a patriotic souvenir.
